We are a non-deposit taking, specialty trust company, with a Charter for a Special Purpose Trust Company to provide Corporate Trust and Shareholder Services. We have fulfilled, and continue to maintain, all Government requirements to operate as one of 10 specialty trust companies in Canada, including establishing a Reserve Fund in the amount of $2,000,000.
Our head office is located in Calgary, Alberta. At Alliance Trust Company, we also work with sub-agents and other industry partners around the world, as and when required by our clients.

Zinat H. Damji, the founder of Alliance Trust Company, was also the founder and CEO of Valiant Trust Company. With the inception of Valiant Trust Company, Zinat was the first female in Canada to have started a Corporate Trust company. During her time at Valiant Trust Company, Zinat quickly acquired the reputation to respond to unusual client requests with specialized services. In this manner, she coined the word “Information Agent”. Eventually, others followed suit and added Information Agent to the existing Proxy Solicitation role. She continues to be visionary to be the first to create new services and product lines, leading the way to changing the parameters of the Corporate Trust business.
Valiant Trust Company was subsequently sold to Canadian Western Bank.
Zinat has continued to be a visionary in the Corporate Trust industry and often lead the way in new areas.
